Backflow / RPZ Testing

Does your property require backflow prevention?

The Water Corporations Backflow Prevention Policy requires the installation of an approved backflow prevention containment device at the boundary of every water service connection to a property (including fire services). This is dependent on the risk of your property. It is the owner’s responsibility to have this device installed and tested.

What is backflow?

Backflow is the reversal of the normal direction of water flow in a water supply plumbing system.

Why install a backflow prevention device?

This is to stop contaminated water going back into the system, protecting the community from this contaminated water which could cause heath problems or death. There are obligations under legislation to install a backflow prevention device.

Backflow prevention devices must be tested by a licensed plumber every 12 months (as well as being initially installed by a licensed plumber).

Johnson & Co has several licensed backflow testers, call us today 08 9272 6811 to organise your testing! We are registered in the Water Corporations Backflow Smart Testers Program!

After testing we send the report to the Water Corporation so they know you have kept up to date with your testing regulations!
